Residence UPVC French Windows

Residence French Windows look just like they are made from wood but are warmer, quieter, and need next to no maintenance, as they are UPVC.

Choose from three size options:

R9 – a deep 100mm Frame with 9 internal chambers for extra insulation, and the 75mm vent means the 100mm mullion window imitates a 4” timber window for a more traditional 1920s farmhouse window look:

R7 – has a 75mm Frame with 7 internal chambers, a 75mm vent, and the 75mm mullion reproduces a standard modern window frame’s thickness.

R2 – with a square edged 100mm Frame, has a 9 internal chamber design, 75mm Vent and 75mm mullion which gives the appearance of a modern square frame, like aluminium.

21st Century technology hidden within a lookalike traditional French timber window, the Residence Collection includes futuristic glazing with a clever coating as standard. With 5 Star’s Residence French double and triple-glazed windows, energy efficiency and thermal retention are exceptionally high, achieving up to a, A++ energy ratings and a u-Value as low as .08W/m2K with Planitherm One. R9’s 9 chambered profile deters heat from escaping and Planitherm One glass reflects your heat back into your room, while Argon gas within the units blocks the cold out, thus helping to reduce the money spent heating your home.

Yes, it is possible to have French windows that look like they’re timber framed but made from warmer and more durable UPVC. Craftsmanship and modern processes combine to produce a mix of styles and configurations, the Residence Collection will conserve your home’s character and improve its desirability whilst reducing the required maintenance.  Astragal and Georgian bar fitted within a lookalike timber French Window will replicate the Georgian style of your chosen design.

Residence’s Regal hardware collection has Pear Drop and Monkey Tail handles plus stays which come in advanced designs and include screw retaining defences, holding locks and hinges in position. Tough, heavy-duty hinges, specifically designed to accommodate the additional weight of triple glazed units (which are almost 50% heavier than double glazed units) and will last, with confidence for the 20-year guarantee period. Dummy butt hinges and working butt hinges retain that lovely traditional aesthetic. A French Window fire escape solution can be achieved with working butt hinges on larger French vents.

The Residence Collection paint palette enables you to customise the inside and outside colours of your Residence French Window just like it is painted wood. The Forest Collection, in the wood effects give your French Window a finish that looks like real wood. Colour and wood options including Chalk White, Clotted Cream and Painswick – a gentle soft green, plus six woodgrain choices to give you a convincing timber look finish. Plus, a two-colour finish option, so that you have a contrasting inside colour to your outside colour or wood effect. Our fantastic glass has an almost invisible film on the inner pane in our double and triple glazed units, this layer reflects heat back into the home.
