Extreme UPVC Windows & Forté Composite Door in Redditch
A Surprise on the Doormat Led to a Stunning Home Transformation
It’s a rare sight these days: a handwritten envelope sitting on the doormat. With the postman calling less frequently, personal mail has become a genuine novelty. So, when Cathy Walker opened this envelope, she was met with a wonderful surprise, a short thank you card from 5 Star Windows and, tucked inside, a cheque for £50.
The story behind that cheque goes back to when she had her patio windows installed. Included in the customer pack was a recommendation scheme promise: refer a friend or family member, and receive £50 as a thank you. She had passed the details on to her sister, never expecting anything more to come of it. But 5 Star kept their word, and that unexpected bonus was the perfect excuse to plan a celebratory Chinese takeaway for the whole family.
Searching for the Perfect Middle Ground
The recommendation couldn’t have come at a better time for her sister, Margaret, and husband, Mark Branton. The couple live just outside Redditch in the village of Studley, in a spacious, detached 1970s tan-brick home. While the property itself is lovely, the original windows and doors had become tired, old, and desperately needed replacing. Margaret and Mark had been searching for the right company for quite some time. They had invited two of the big national firms round, but found them incredibly expensive, even if the products were high quality. They also looked at a local, ‘one-man band’ installer, a lovely guy, but he simply couldn’t offer the long-term guarantees that a large project like theirs required. They found themselves searching for a middle ground: a company with national-level professionalism, but with a deeply personal, local touch.
A Design Consultation with a Difference
When the recommendation arrived, they contacted 5 Star*. From the moment the designer arrived at their Studley home, they knew they were dealing with a different kind of business. He was professional, considerate, and entirely without the flashy sales pitch they had experienced elsewhere. He took his time, measured meticulously, and did something no other company had bothered to do: he took detailed photographs of the exterior of the home. Margaret and Mark had initially been considering coloured window frames. However, after considering the light brickwork, the designer advised them that classic white would look stunning. He explained that a crisp, clean white would maintain the original architectural integrity of the 1970s design, proving that sometimes the simplest choices yield the most beautiful results.
* insider tip: it is worth knowing that almost 50% of 5 Star’s current customers come from previous customers and their recommendations.
Traditional Charm with Modern Performance
Trusting his expertise, the couple chose the White Extreme storm guard window range. The design features conventional openings that closely mirrored the property’s original wooden windows, effortlessly blending modern energy efficiency with traditional style. To complete the transformation, they also selected a high-security, premium front door from the Forté range in a striking Anthracite Grey, perfectly anchoring the crisp white window frames. The final outcome is nothing short of spectacular. The crisp white frames provide a striking, clean contrast against the light tan brickwork, revitalising the home’s exterior. Margaret and Mark are absolutely overjoyed with their new windows and door. From the initial introduction to the flawless installation in Studley, it’s a project that proved a great recommendation is literally worth its weight in gold.
