Ready to proceed with a replacement window project? Your first job will be to find the best window company to oversee it, but how do you identify them?
This blog will help you recognise which window installers to trust so that your home profits from a quality installation and the finest double or triple glazed windows for the money.
How Is The โBestโ Window Company Defined?
Any window specialist can say theyโre the best window company, but to legitimately lay claim to that statement they must be able to offer proof of a fine installation track record, provide a comprehensive guarantee etc. Being excessively cheap doesnโt qualify as being top dog for windows!
Lots of product choice also matters, as does being assured of energy efficient windows that are accurately measured, professionally fitted and excellent performing designs.
Expertise, Collections and Showroom
To get an idea of whether an installer is skilled enough to carry out the work, ask to be shown some of their past projects and see if they have a showroom.
- Browse Case Studies: A look at a few case studies will offer some indication of the types of styles, materials and properties they work with.
- Confirm Installer Capability: Request confirmation from the installer if they have an in-house team to fulfil projects or rely on sub-contractors.
Home Visit And Survey
To understand the project scale and whatโs required, any good installer will refrain from issuing a quote until theyโve performed a survey at your house. They need to analyse your window openings, amongst other things, to gauge what price to charge.
Further to measuring the height and width of the openings, theyโll check them over and inspect frames, ventilation, access and brickwork.
A home survey is also your chance to ask any questions and communicate your objectives. During these conversations, you can judge whether the installer seems trustworthy.
Glossy marketing or an exceptionally low quote give no guarantee that a window company will do a quality job. They need evidence to back it up. The success of a window project also relies on the installation standard.
