UPVC Cottage Windows

When changing the windows within a cottage or period property, to keep that cottage style or create that same feel within a period property or new-build, in most cases it is the glazing bars and mullion which placed correctly will create that cottage-like appearance. Working with a 5 Star designer you can explore all the options to create any look you want. Envisage flush cottage windows are made from high-grade UPVC, they will lower the cost of your heating bills and come with an array of secure components, including shoot-bolt locks, key locking handles and toughened glass.

When recreating that cottage window feel one of the most important considerations, after the Astragal or Georgian bar, is the window system you choose because all UPVC is not the same, for cottage replacement styles we recommend Envisage Flush UPVC because it’s biggest advantage is that externally and internally it has flush opening vents which gives it the effect of not looking like UPVC but more like real painted wood windows. When you choose a timber lookalike window foil the effect becomes even more realistic.

Envisage Sliding Sash Cottage Window

A cottage window is commonly a window with two sliding sashes, one sliding up and one sliding down, on top the other in the same frame. For aesthetics, the upper sash can be shorter than the lower one. The true cottage feel is still created when the windowpanes are split with vertical and horizontal bars. The sliding sash window as a style is less weather secure than other windows, so there is a fake option of this style which is created to look visually similar but utilises two pushouts, each hinged at the top creating an increased compression and better acoustics with interlocking hinge bolts and the optimum weather seals. The upper sash or pushout is often split into smaller rectangles although in some cases both sashes are divided.

PERSONALISE THE DESIGN

Selecting a window profile is just one element of your new cottage windows. Once that’s been settled, you then need to tailor the design, choosing from our many coloured finishes, which can be different inside to out, your glazing options and hardware style and colour.

Colours to suit every home

The Woodgrain White option looks fantastic in Envisage flush cottage windows.  For those seeking some colour, the range offers many beautiful shades, textures and wood effects to give that traditional cottage look. You can even choose a to have your cottage window frames finished in a different colour and finish for indoors to the outside. Whether you want to stand out or blend in, we’ll do all we can to match your dreams and find the perfect finish for your home.

Envisage Flush Opening Cottage Window range

Complementing an opening window with the right hardware transforms it – monkey tail handles, pear drop and cranked are all available plus inline handles if you prefer, all in a wide choice of colours and finishes.  Every component of your opening windows must work together and that includes things like hinges, handles and stays. It’s not just function – although that’s essential – appearance matters. The Envisage Flush Cottage Opening Windows are made in Britain to last and to an exceptionally high standard. UPVC is a mega durable material that will never rot, warp, peel or flake and it is super easy to keep clean with a simple wash down using a soft cloth and warm soapy water to keep them looking beautiful.

5 Star Glass is more than glass.

Two considerations when choosing glass, 1) Obscured or textured glass gives you privacy. The textured glass surface distorts light which gives additional privacy without affecting the light, ask one of our designers to show you our glass pattern options. 2) Our clever coated glass has an almost invisible film on the inner pane of all our energy-efficient heat reflective glass units. It is high solar heat gain, meaning it is retaining your generated heating warmth by allowing a high level of solar energy to flood in, for warmer and brighter interiors – thus reducing your heating and lighting costs. The coating also reflects heat back into the room. A helpful 5 Star designer will explain all your options (and we do not charge for designer appointments).
