It’s the start of a new year and there’s plenty of new design trends to keep abreast of. Here at 5 Star we’re going to run down some of the top interior design trends for 2014. So if you’re planning on mixing things up and re-decorating your conservatory then bear some of these trends in mind.
Glamour & Drama
The last couple of years have seen a big rise in white walls but 2014 is the start of drama and glamour.
This is the year when there’s going to be a lot more dark rooms than light, bright rooms. Dark, moody walls with lots of blacks and greys. These are the kind of colours that will complement the metallic home accessories that seem to be on the rise too.
So Long, Beige…
The bland, plain colours like beige seem to be a thing of the past this year. Instead of people settling on one particular colour or look this year it seems that there’s going to be more people leaning more toward big-impact accents that will allow them to easily change their décor.
A colour that is very prominent at the minute on the streets and on the catwalk runways at fashion shows is navy blue. This is set to be a big colour this year not only in what we just mentioned but also for interiors too.
Not only navy blue either, there’s set to be a big increase in the number of blue interiors. With indigo and bright blue colours like peacock blue and cobalt proving to be a hit too, you can expect this year to be a very blue one!
So, what do you think of the new and upcoming trends for this coming year? Will you be updating your interior? If you’re lacking an addition to your home, why not give us a call here at 5 Star and we’ll give you a breakdown of what we can offer you. We look forward to speaking to you!
