A recent set of statistics from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) has indicated that homeowners are taking the idea of energy saving serious. The main statistic shows that homes in England and Wales alone have managed to reduce the energy used by 24.7% in 2011 from the initial use in 2005.

The regulator, Ofgem, however indicates that bills have still taken a rise of 28% in the last 3 years. This shows that without insulation the price of bills would be even more unbearable and unaffordable for the majority of homeowners.

A spokesman for Energy UK also said that the fall in consumption shows how effective it is to insulate your home.
