Envisage French windows

An Envisage Flush French Window opens with hinges on each side of the frame, the master sash opens first, and the slave sash opens second, taking with it the floating mullion (the vertical strut of frame running down the middle of the window).  So, when both vents are open, a complete opening is generated, without any frame left obstructing the view.  Envisage flush UPVC French windows can be fitted with an espagnolette locking system, with a locking handle on each opener. A French window’s timeless beauty can transform the look and feel of a room.

UPVC French windows can...

Solve a fire exit issue – If a window is required to be a potential fire escape exit but a single vent is too small to allow a person to get out, then a French Window can double the size of the opening and therefore could solve the issue.

If a kitchen window opens onto decking or a patio then a French Window is the ultimate must-have, when barbequing or alfresco entertaining as it doubles as a serving hatches.

The Flush French Window frame is much narrower than a French door frame, so when used in a narrow opening instead of doors they give much more natural light and more of the view.

Juliette balcony French window

The elegant and romantic appearance of a French Window fits perfectly with any Juliette balcony. Made-to-measure UPVC French Windows can open inwards or outwards, so if a Juliette balcony is fitted, an accompanying French Window is the best option, to take full advantage of the opening. The heavier frame and threshold of a set of French doors are not required, so the thinner frame of the French Window gives less frame, more natural light, and more view.

French doors - like French windows

French windows are usually narrower than French doors but have more delicate thinner frames. A French window may have a sill below the window raising it above ground level. Whereas a door finishes lower, with a threshold at the bottom, to minimalize the trip hazards. The French window handles will also be finer than the heavier French door handles, though both are individually lockable, normally with keyed alike keys (one key fits both locks).

French windows with astragal bar

Choose your UPVC Envisage Flush French Windows for older properties and cottages styles with astragal or Georgian bar.  Astragal bars (Authentic looking Georgian Bars) are perfectly fitted on both sides of a double-glazed unit, whereas Georgian bars (Internal Bars) are magically fitted to the inside of the double-glazing unit (much easier for cleaning). One of the 5 Star Designers will help you through the many options either in the comfort of your own home or at one of our beautiful showrooms.  Whatever you choose 5 Star will fit them for you quickly and without fuss.
