RESIDENCE COTTAGE WINDOWS

The Residence Windows have been created in the style of 19th Century timber windows, including window sashes, which when closed, align flush with the window’s outer frame, like traditional timber windows. Residence Cottage Windows look like wood but need next to no maintenance and come in three size options, R2 100mm Frame, a slim 9 chamber design, 75mm Sash, 75mm Mullion giving the appearance of traditional 1920s farmhouse Window. Similarly, the heavier R9 – 100mm Frame, 9 Chambers, 75mm Sash, this 100mm mullion window is to emulate a 4” timber windows, and R7 – 75mm Frame, 7 chamber design 75mm Sash, 75mm Mullion replicating a standard modern window frame’s thickness. All the advantages of a UPVC Windows with the beautiful appearance of a wooden timber window.

21st Century technology hidden within a lookalike traditional cottage timber window, the Residence Collection includes futuristic glazing with a clever coating as standard. With 5 Star’s Residence Cottage double and triple-glazed windows, energy efficiency and thermal retention are exceptionally high, achieving up to a, A++ energy ratings and a u-Value as low as .08W/m2K with Planitherm One. R9’s 9 chambered profile deters heat from escaping and Planitherm One glass reflects your heat back into your room, while Argon gas within the units blocks the cold out, thus helping to reduce the money spent heating your home.

It is possible to make traditional timber looking windows in UPVC. Craftsmanship and modern processes combine to produce a mix of styles and configurations, the Residence Collection will keep your home’s original character but increase its desirability whilst lowering the required maintenance.  Astragal or Georgian bars in a Residence Window will imitate the Georgian style of your chosen windows design. Drip bars add an appealing feature and ideally reinforce the transom mullion in bigger windows.

The beautiful Regal hardware range, of Residence’s very own designs of Pear Drop and Monkey Tail handles and stays which come in clever designs and include screw retaining fortifications, holding locks and hinges firmly in position. Strong, heavy-duty hinges are specially designed to accommodate the additional weight of triple glazed units. Dummy butt hinges and working butt hinges retain the timber window looks. A cottage window fire escape solution can be achieved with working butt hinges on larger cottage opening vents.

The Forest Collection gives you wood effect cottage window finishes, that look like wood, and the Residence Collection colour palette gives you fantastic choices to work with and allow you to personalise the internal and external colours of your Residence cottage windows. Fantastic options to be compatible with the original finishing style including colours like Chalk White, Pepper Oak, Clotted Cream and Painswick, a gentle soft green. Plus, the six woodgrains within the Forest Collection give you a realistic timber look finish. You can even have a two-colour finish, so that you have a contrasting inside colour to your outdoor. Our coated Glass has a clever film on the inner pane of all our energy-efficient insulating glass units. This coating reflects your heat back into the home. The high solar heat gain means it is retaining your generated heating warmth by allowing high levels of solar energy to flood in, for warmer and brighter interiors, and reflecting heat back into the room, reducing your heating and lighting bills.
