5 STAR HITS THE TV SCREEN ON BBC 1 DIY SOS
The whole 5 Star team, many customers and the viewing public had their TVs’ tuned into BBC One on Tuesday night for the first episode in the new series of DIY SOS The Big Build.
DIY SOS for every aspect of the Windows and Doors to be Replaced
This was because it featured a project 5 Star worked on in Cheltenham where the home improvement giants were tasked with surveying, manufacturing and then installing new windows and doors at the home of young disabled athlete Scott Jones here in just 10 days.
Wheel Chair Access Made Easy
Overseen by Installations Technical Manager, Darren Martin, our 5 Star fitting team installed made to measure wheelchair access composite doors and eight A rated UPVC windows as part of a far-reaching transformation to enable Scott to be more independent at home.
DIY SOS sees home transformed.
It saw the development of a large side and rear extension encompassing a bespoke bedroom, wet room, with access to an adapted kitchen. This development was simple for 5 Star as it was typical of the lifestyle extensions this specialist construction carries out every day.
Gym Conservatories are easy to build.
A state-of-the-art gym studio was also created in DIY SOS to help the world champion shot putter realise his dream of competing at the Paralympics Games. 5 Star says the 10 day time-scale made this one of the most challenging DIY SOS installations ever undertaken but it was a privilege to be involved in an amazing cause for such a deserving and inspirational young person.
BBC researcher Rajveer Sihota arranged for 5 Star Windows MD, Richard Manser to meet the DIY SOS team, few would have believed it possible for 5 Star to have agreed, surveyed, manufactured and started the install within just 10 days!
