Top 3 Famous People From The Midlands

There’s a lot of different people in the Midlands and as is the same with any other places in the UK, we have our fair share of celebs. We’re going to list three of our most famous celebrities from the Midlands.

Ozzy Osbourne

Ozzy is famed for a few different things. However, you may now say that his wife Sharon, is doing better than him in terms of recent fame.

She’s currently a judge on the X Factor and is famous for various other reasons. But still, Ozzy is best known for the part he played in the pioneering, British heavy metal band, Black Sabbath. He was also the star of the popular reality TV show, The Osbournes.

Sam Allardyce

Sam Allardyce or big Sam as he’s affectionately known, has been around the country quite a bit but, he’s from Dudley in the West Midlands.

One of England’s most famous English football managers, Sam Allardyce has both played for and managed some of the biggest clubs in the country such as Bolton Wanderers, Preston North End and West Bromwich Albion. He’s currently managing in the capital at West Ham United.

Nigel Mansell

Another British sporting great. Nigel Mansell was born in Upton-upon-Severn, West Midlands and he was one of the most famous Formula 1 drivers that England and maybe even the UK for that matter has seen.

He made his F1 debut in 1980 and had his first win in 1985, finished second in the 1986 world championship and he also drove the Indy car circuit in the USA and became the first man to win the World Series Championship in his rookie year. He then retired in 1995.
